With so many presentations focusing on why schools need to become a PLC, and what they are, my proposal is a “nuts and bolts” active participant session where the focus will be on “How” to build high performing teams quickly utilizing the PLC process. This will give any administrator, or guiding coalition, an authentic experience on how to implement a PLC. Specifically, the focus will be on how to create norms that work, agendas that track, table talk roles for building high functioning teams, and a process (unpacking documents, cycle of inquiry checklist, example CFA’s aligned to unpacked standards, and an example of how to leverage Google to stay organized and build transparency) that focuses on the 4 questions in a way that makes sense so teams quickly move from “forming” to giving high quality CFA’s, and learn effective strategies from each other, and start real tier 2 intervention in months and not years.
